The iPad is NOT a Tablet.

I hate to be persnickety about nomenclature, but I can’t call a heart a spade and the iPad is not a tablet. The lack of a physical keyboard does not grant the iPad such a lofty title. The iPad is simply a multi-touch device, and touch does not a tablet make. The iPad does not have tablet functionality, nor will it in any foreseeable future.

Tablet functionality at least includes the ability to use some sort of pen to manipulate some form of digital ink. This is generally supported by some sort of handwriting recognition technology. And, yes, the pen is required, as it provides some modicum of accuracy that cannot be achieved with my fat little fingertips.

Please stop getting this confused. You’re hurting the technology illiterate.
